This building has quite the history! The intial structure was a wood sanctuary on ground level built sometime around 1910 (city property records were lost in the 1920 Chattanooga fire). Several congregations met throughout the years, at one point raising the building 10 feet higher and setting it on a 2 foot wide foundation of river rock. Later, an addition was added to the building to house a nursery and classrooms. Around 1970, it was purchased by an individual who used it solely as a shop/warehouse/apartment until their death in 2012.
We acquired the property in 2017 and have been working on its rehabilitation since. Our vision combines Brent’s passion for music, Maggie’s love of gardening, and a shared excitement for bringing people together. Redbud is a gathering place for anything from a small yoga class to a wedding with hundreds of guests and we look forward to helping bring your next event to life!
